I write about suicide loss, resilience and hope. My writing explores the intersections of grief, parenting and self-care, particularly within the context of suicide. My work has been highlighted in The New York Times (Modern Love and Tiny Love Stories), Hippocampus, and The Mighty, and I have been featured on the BBC, as well as NPR’s Airtalk with Larry Mantle, the Lori & Julia Bookclub, and Zibby Owen’s podcast, Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books. My full-length memoir on my family's journey following the suicide of my first husband is now available wherever books are sold.
I live in Southern California with my husband Tim in our relatively empty nest. We enjoy hiking in the local foothills, as well as downward dogging with our so-called hunting dog. I received my B.A. from Rice University and my J.D. from UCLA.
